Well, I’m not sure I’d put it QUITE like that. What I’d say is what I’ve said - Presidents who run for second terms are likely to get reelected, and those who run for the 3rd consecutive term for their party are likely to lose.

The urge to “let him finish what he started”, as well as the urge to “give the other guys a chance” runs deep in the swing voters.
