When the Obama admin took time to prepare for the ‘13 shutdown and closed down parks/rec areas, the GOP lost their fucking minds over what they viewed as punitive actions being taken to punish the public for the DNC’s refusal to “negotiate.”

By contrast, this admin went barreling into a shutdown without any prior planning, and is now shocked to find out that shit doesn’t just keep rolling ahead on sheer momentum. See also: Mark Meadows being shocked that SNAP funding doesn’t just get automatically renewed despite a gov’t shutdown.
