The biggest problem in this whole mess is that swing voters are experts at finding excuses to vote Republican. E.g., this mess in VA will make them skittish about Democrats for a while, but the fact that the GOP has been the party of racism longer than most voters have been alive never registers. At all.

I’m beginning to think it’s necessary to have some kind of nation-wide remedial education program on what and who is racist, using Trump as the main case study. But everyone outside of team D will instantly reject any such attempt.

Yeah I’m afraid this is going to make swing voters give the GOP another chance that they don’t deserve.
