I believe that Clinton, Gore, and Kerry all carried Pennsylvania. And Obama carried it by 10 points. Pennsylvania also has a Democratic governor. The idea that a very conservative Republican, which Pat Toomey is, is going to carry PA in 2010 seems overly optimistic to me.

Note, too, Republican party registration in PA dropped by 200,000 in 2008.
