Also the kabuki performance whereby the ugly dogwhistle-y shit said by Romney allies like Donald Trump don’t count in this grand tabulation of wrongs done.

Because really, what better way to convince people that you’re above the sort of “dirty politics” you accuse your opponent of engaging in than to get down into the mud yourself?
