Sounds like people are looking for good entertainment instead of more Hollywood slop.

RIght after the new year, our first show of the season did terrible. And it was a western regional premiere of a play by Irelands Pulitzer Prize winning playwright.

We didn’t know what that meant, the lousy attendance. But it may have been the election, all the stuff coming down about the banks, economy etc. But by the second show of the season, the attendance was back up to normal.

And this show, our third, is looking like it will match our expected revenue.

The Denver area is over populated with live theatre companies. Almost 50, which is unheard of in an area that has a population of a little over half a million.

But, one advantage we have is that we offer professional theatre at a price that beats all the road shows and the big venue places. A Broadway road show ticket, for a seat where you can actually see and hear correctly, starts at 60 to 75 dollars, and special VIP seating can be 125 or more.

And the large straight play venues prices are 35-60 dollars. We offer the same quality, same production values, some of the best actors in town for 18-20 dollars a ticket.

So, when the economy is in a downturn like this, we benefit, because we can satisfy the theatre goers need to see shows, give them quality, but they don’t have to go downtown and spend 2-3 hundred dollars for an evening.
