See, Jane, you don’t understand the wingnut mind. We’re not all Americans to them. Only some (white, rural, evangelical Christian, hardcore right-wing) are, and the rest of us are treasonous aliens who are taking over “their” country. Once you understand the wingnut mind, it becomes a lot easier to understand their lunacy.
