Here’s some photos for those of you interested in naval and military stuff. A couple of days ago, I visited “Minsk World” in Shenzhen, China, where the Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk is moored as a kind of museum cum derelict. It’s both interesting and sad, because the operators are doing nothing to maintain the ship and the few aircraft on display. That means, over the years, it will slowly rust away.

For about $20, you walk around on the flight deck, and prowl some parts below decks, including what I assume is the hangar. The bridge and other parts of the superstructure appeared closed off.

According to wikipedia, the Minsk was laid down in 1972 and commissioned in 1978, decommissioned in 1993.

From a distance, she doesn’t look half bad
Is this the hangar? Now it’s a place for shops and arcades
