I’m just a quiet lurker.

I did have the pleasure of living in a socialist democracy for several years. The quality of life is better, but you have fewer things - that you don’t need anyway. However, you don’t fear medical bills, unemployment, hunger, quality education, or homelessness. That means a lot. But to change the US for the better will take the slow unraveling of the way this country is structured. We made baby steps with Medicare, medicaid, SNAP, ACA, and look at the freak outs about that. We have a long way to go.

For all of Sanders ranting, I wonder what will become of it. What is the path forward when he doesn’t get his way, which he won’t? I hope he doesn’t damage the (horribly) slow progress we are making.

Will he be marginalized, lose his seat to a real Dem, or ? I support his concepts, but realize that we talking about a major restructuring of our society. And that ain’t happening in 2016.
