re: #22 calochortus

Eh. My family, friends and life are here, so I don’t plan on leaving. On the other hand, it’s California, so things shouldn’t get too bad.

This is exactly, including location, my situation.

re: #29 Jack Burton

Most people cannot just drop everything and move to another country. In fact only a small select privileged few, or young people just out of school with nothing to lose can do this. The vast majority of people have roots, families, careers, and responsibilities that they can’t just walk away from at the drop of a hat.

That’s why it always annoys the shit out of me when I see some partisan hack celebrity from the far left or far right say they are going to leave the country if so-and-so gets elected, especially when they do shit like bad mouth so-and-so’s viable opponent and vote for some 3rd party ass-clown…. why? Because they are rich and have the privilege to not live with the consequences of their bullshit, while the rest of us suffer.

I’m not married and have no kids. I’m a lawyer, which means I’m not particularly happy with my career anyway. So really, it’s mostly that my folks, sister (and her kids), and extended family are here. But really, the idea of Belize or St Marteen or Bora Bora or Fiji is kind of appealing.
