I don’t see this. The directive could go out from Murdoch today and FoxNews could demand the impeachment of the Democrat criminal tr*mp to be replaced by Pence (who would also give them everything they want, with much less pointless drama). tr*mp has no ideology, so booting him from office carries no ideological implications.

The only downside to this for the GOP is that it would piss off tr*mp voters, who like tr*mp a lot more than they like the GOP.

True, but most Trump voters aren’t true believers in Trump IMO; they’re just rallying around him because he has an R next to his name. And it wouldn’t surprise me if his sudden about-face with Sessions causes Republican loyalists to sour on him. Because these more “levelheaded” Trump voters probably recognize that Jeff Sessions is the most effective member of Trump’s administration, and getting rid of him would jeopardize their cherished white supremacist agenda.
