Well, yes, the Iraq War really really hurt, and also, the lack of response during/after Katrina. The good French folks in my village just couldn’t believe the US Government would let go of a city like that. The images on TV were damning.

I spend a lot of time on this hobbyhorse, but I will jump back on it again: when people rely on their FB feed for news on anything other than what their friends and family are up to, and when “trending on Twitter” became a news item in and of itself, I began to fear for the future of the Republic.

Now we have Mark Zuckerberg testifying before Congress and a President who expresses his policy initiatives in the form of Tweets.
