The next shutdown will probably be very short lived, now that the Air Traffic Controllers and TAS agents know they can end a shutdown in a matter of hours. That should hopefully end the tactic of shutting down the government permanently. Trump could declare a national emergency, which would be blocked in the courts, allowing him to tweet rage at “activist judges.” Or he could just accept whatever package of border security enhancements are negotiated in Congress, then tweet he won a great victory, lying to his cultists that it funds more wall building. That seems like his best option to me.
