just watched a segment on BBC news about Iranians travelling for the Persian New Year and estimates are that 8 million people are travelling ignoring government recommendations to stay home. They were interviewing some people at a checkpoint where they were screening people for symptoms.

Some of the things people were saying was incomprehensible.

“We aren’t travelling, we are just going to visit our parents, we wont stay long.”

Iran is fucked, you’d think an authoritarian regime would be well placed to enforce the measures necessary to slow the spread.
