It’s to keep folks distracted while the GOP caves in and passes the middle-class tax cuts before month’s end. Keep the wingnuts interested in the shiny thing long enough so that they get bored right about the time we start watching the debt limit showdown.

I hope your assessment is correct…they have to keep the Groverites from damning them to Tea Party primary hell. There are still a few among them who are more pragmatists than blindered ideologues…
