Buck mainly stays out of the main threads. And anyway, I don’t think I could have been fairer. The only facts are the women’s stories, the order from the health ministry to not do this, and the depo-provera use. I’m personally unconvinced by the cultural argument because I doubt that, if the motive is ‘hide contraception from your husbands’, that Ethopian Jews are the only ethnic group in Israel who have motive to do that, if they even do have motive to do that.

There’s also the possibility of the depo-provera usage statistic being wrong, of course.
