re: #21 OtterQueen

I’m having a hard time with anyone comparing this to rape. I’ve been raped, and I’ve had a transvaginal ultrasound before an abortion, and I can tell you that the two experiences were completely different.

Forced ultrasounds are ridiculous, unnecessary, and invasive, but I can’t equate them to rape. As for letting a doctor put something inside me against my will, I have to get a medically unnecessary pelvic exam and pap smear every year in order to get birth control pills, but no one is calling that rape.

Am I wrong here? Seriously, I’m not trying to stir up shit, I just want to know if you see any flaws in my point of view.

One can’t compare it to violent rape, but it is a physical violation. It is a State Mandated Violation.

Unlike other medical vaginal ultrasounds that are necessary for health reasons, for the mother or the baby, (and are not mandated by the State) this is not. This is purely a Political Mandate.
