Why are cryptos rallying? Some mystical numbers that are maintained by people who are associated with organized crime or the Russians? I understand a rally for precious metals; they actually exist. Is it just that real currency is so 20th century and now everyone wants something new and shiny and lacking any real substance.

Wall Street is investing into Bitcoin and Ethereum pretty heavily. Organized crime still prefers cash, because most cryptos are not anonymous and can be traced to the source. That’s how the FBI busted the Silk Road illicit market site. And the Russians use shell companies.

As for currency, only about 30% of US dollars exist in physical form. The other 70% is stored as numbers in computers.
