Haha that works. Really though, these guys built a party that mocked a veteran’s purple heart at their national convention and got their candidate Bush re-elected based on fears about same sex marriage. I don’t want to hear them crying about Trump. I suspect the real reason why they don’t like Trump is they feel they can’t control them like they could a Walker, Bush, or Rubio.

That is largely why Trump is so infuriating to the GOP leadership, because he’s capable of self-financing his own campaign, leaving them with little leverage on him. Not that that’s saying much, since the post-Citizens United political landscape has seen candidates boosted into the stratosphere on a mountain of dark money from donors who do not have the sort of loyalty to the leadership that they once did when constrained by campaign finance laws. Why give a shit what Rinsed Prius wants when you can buy a meat puppet like Walker for pennies on the dollar and get everything you want out of the next administration directly, rather than dealing with the middle men?
