For decades, Republicans have made little secret of the fact that they believe only Christians are real Americans. If I am not mistaken, even George H.W. suggested atheists not be allowed to vote (!!!).

It is alleged (as a journalist reported it but has no written record or recording) that GHW Bush said that he thought atheists could not be patriotic, and should not be considered citizens.

Made me fell real good about my Commander-in-Chief (as he said that when I was still in the Navy). My mother (a Navy vet) also wasn’t very happy about that.
