re: #419 J.S.

With all due respect, I think you might want to read a bit more about the conditions of others during WWII, etc, (for example, Canadians, British, etc., in Japanese run internment camps, etc.) so as to develop a more balanced perspective (thereby putting all into proper context).

Well, this mess got started when I replied to comment 280:

re: #262 Earick

My mother was born and raised in Germany. As a girl, she sat on her swing and watched as the jews were rounded up.
My father, an MP, was at that same time rounding up American Japs.

Though the difference in treatment of the two groups is monumental, it must be stated… WE ALREADY DID IT ONCE!

Ummm, I am not accepting the premise that what we did in WWII regarding the Japanese is the same as what happened to the Jews during the same period.

What we did was wrong. I know the historical reference to how both civilians and military were treated by the Japanese military running their camps. That wasn’t a part of the discussion. Do we base what we do to innocents on how our innocents are treated? Wrong is wrong regardless of who does it and what the US did during WWII to those interned in our camps was wrong. Why don’t you read up on some history?
