Any thoughts on whether this will be good or bad for the companies?

On the one hand, employee-owned business generally do pretty well.

On the other, many of these employees are of the gimme-more populist, union mindset which generally fights against profitability.

Great question. My guess is that it won’t go all that well, as the control of decision making would be in the hands of UAW management, which is a bit different from a situation where the employees have a direct stake in the success of the company. (But I’m no expert in this area - perhaps some other lizards have a more informed opinion?)
