George Allen, still an asshole:

Former Virginia Gov. and U.S. Sen. George Allen said he helped coach Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence for his debate against Democrat Tim Kaine, who debated Allen four years ago.

In an interview this week with radio host Rita Cosby of New York’s WABC, Allen said he met with Pence last month to tell him what to expect from Kaine, who beat Allen in a U.S. Senate race four years ago.

Shortly before Kaine’s selection as Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Allen praised Kaine as a skilled politician with a rare inclination for bipartisanship. But Allen panned Kaine’s performance in Tuesday night’s debate, saying he came across as “snippy” and “an ankle biter.”
