Game 6 of the WS seems to be a perfect metaphor for this election right now: The Cubs took an early lead and have held it since the first inning. And the best efforts of the Indians has turned what might have been a blowout game into a five-run deficit. Could the Indians still win? Sure. But as we get closer to the end, they’ve left the part of the game where they could possibly win on mediocre innings and now need awesome innings. Obsessing over the greater than zero chance they still have of pulling it off…that way lies madness.
