Wow, it asks you? My workstation generally just starts running R…E…A…L…L…Y……S…L…O…W…L…Y when it wants rebooted for an update.

At the evil too big to fail employer, software will be pushed out to the laptop/desktop, then a 90 minute countdown starts before the box is automatically rebooted. It had to be done that way, because some people would simply never reboot their computers if they didn’t have to.
