I prefer the pistol, for those reasons. More training is required to reliably put lead on target. Pistol loads that won’t penetrate wall etc… are available.

Not much of a gun guy here, but I know you can get “snake shot” loads for pistols. Is there anything comparable with a little more heft to it?
