In the spirit of the discussion:
“Classic Rock” to me can now be defined as the finite collection of about 200, maybe 250 songs that they have played all day, every day, on every classic rock station, and now beamed from space on XM/Sirius. I asked a radio station manager once if these songs (you know them…the five songs from each artist that they are willing to play, despite the 300 songs in that artist’s reportoire(sp), most of which are far better) were now public domain like “mary had a little lamb” or something, and if that’s why those are the only 250 songs I’ve heard on Classic Rock stations for the last 38 years of my life.

He laughed and said no, it’s all about the money, it’s what people want.

Who the hell are these people? Who the hell wants to hear “Magic Man” and “Tom Sawyer” five times a day for nearly 40 years? WHO?
