re: #355 iLikeCandy

You’d stay away from something you (could) support because the MSM will distort it?

That”s not really what I was trying to say. I’m not sure what you’re trying to get out of me. I’ve participated in MANY protests/gatherings, in support of our troops, etc, even though several of those events were either ignored by the media, or misrepresented. However, I’d rather not attend a rally where the media doesn’t even HAVE to misrepresent it to cast it in a bad light. Glenn Beck in all his ranting glory is doing the left’s job for them, painting conservatives as lunatics. No, I would not want to be at that particular Tea Party.

Have there been any signs at tea parties saying “Burn books”?

There’s been at least one woman shouting it, in response to which she received applause. I’ll support conservatives when and where I can, but I draw the line at associating with those who would call for, or applaud, book burning.

Overall, I think you’re reading into my comments a little too closesly. They were primarily meant as commentary on the craziness of Beck and that ilk, and were never meant to imply that folks shouldn’t stand up and protest the economic mis-steps of this administration.
