Just why exactly do you think Franken should resign?

You have suggested it is for political “upsmanship”.

Do you think what he is accused of actually merits resignation?

Yes I do, actually. The count of women Franken has harassed is now at six and rising. And its not “gamesmanship.” Its about being the Party that actually cares about women’s right to be full participants in society. For Democrats to be that they shouldn’t be the Party that only cares about sexual harassment of women if its the other guys who do it. Let the GOP be the Party that supports sexual predators. I like Franken too. I liked him on SNL; I bought his books. But he is not irreplaceable. And dreaming up a fantastical scenario in which McConnell squeezes out some minute advantage from Franken resigning is not a good reason to support Franken as more and more women come forward against him.
