I personally know about three dozen working people (funny how artists tend to be on the shit end of the stick in these matters) who are uninsured. A couple of them can NEVER BE INSURED EVER under our old system because of pre-existing conditions from birth that are pervasive and obvious. Most of them simply cannot pay more than their income, or 70% of their income, to buy a plan outright. They just go without.

For the gazillionth time:

Insurance is Risk Management. By definition, not everyone is going to qualify.

If you want healthcare for everyone, the insurance model doesn’t apply.
