Personally, I’d like to see all religions just disappear. Then perhaps the things we fight about would be more tractable by reason and discourse.

Humans are irrational. Religion is simply the most organised form of that irrationality. Reason and discourse barely enter into our discussions now, even in this most enlightened of ages, even the things that religion barely touches on.
