That is my feeling too. The issue is not America’s image or whatever price they think the captain’s life is worth. They need to be dealt with, not simply bought off again and again. I really hope the captain comes home safe and sound, but not at the price of enabling and encouraging the pirates to continue. There are naval vessels patrolling the area—can’t they at least form convoys?

BTW, I am descended from French pirates on my father’s side.
