Just found out that some budding writer whom I published loooooong ago (and who an asshole to me) is now and has been for years a world-famous science fiction writer. Huh. I still remember him as a jerk who though he deserved special editorial treatment, even though at the time he was unpublished. I just stumbled across a book of his that just came out, and on the back flap it details his long and stellar career — which began exactly one year after I got him started. Apparently he’s world famous! And I never knew, because I don’t follow science fiction.
