What if religion requires 4 days of rest every week, as a hypothetical? Or wearing weapons? Or not having female teachers? I think a principled argument from freedom of religion is probably impossible. Freedom of religion cannot override secular principles.

Freedom of religion should be allowed where it doesn’t contradict those mutual secular values.

And the Sikh’s handle the weapon thing pretty well.

As one Sikh scholar said, the virtue of religion is its flexibility.
