Yes, I was only trying to point out the numbers. The US in the early 1900s was probably 80% White. So there was no threat to that dominance…but they still used the same hate to do things like form the KKK and do what you are talking about.

It seems that way from today’s perspective… but the US in the early 1900’s didn’t consider Italians or Greeks or Jews or eastern Europeans “white”.

And no matter how much they whine now about the country becoming “minority white” in our lifetime, it won’t happen. Currently, there’s census categories called “non-Hispanic white”, “non-Hispanic black”, and Hispanic — but 30 years from now the majority will have decided that Spanish-speaking white people are just as white as English-speaking white people, Spanish-speaking black people are just as black as English-speaking black people, and mestizos will be their own check-the-box category.
