The point would seem to be to give Guyger a “valid” reason for being in Jean’s apartment. Namely that even if the jury believes that she barged in, arresting a “criminal” in the commission of a “crime” is her job and that’s what she was doing. That Jean was “uncooperative” puts the onus for his death on him, not hear for acting in “self defense.”
