Meant to add, part of this is that Democrats would do whatever norm-breaking, rule-smashing thing Republicans have to do to get their wishes, if they had the chance, so Republicans have to do it.

Of course, the fact that Democrats had been in that position, and DIDN’T do that doesn’t enter into their thinking.
