After the 2008 election, I wasn’t sold on Obama - I didn’t think that he was ready for foreign policy and the challenges awaiting the nation, but I considered myself part of the loyal opposition. I would oppose or stand with the President on the issues and principles. If the President made good choices, I’d support. I’d question if he was doing something wrong.

I went from being in the loyal opposition to supporting Obama and Democrats outright. Part of that was watching how the GOP went from being the opposing party to the party of obstructionism and refusing to govern or legislate. There was no good faith effort to work with the president on any issue.

Budget battles became potential government shutdowns.

Debt ceiling issues became potential economy battering rams.

Obstructionism and blind hate of the President became all consuming.

Now, those same obstructionists and irrational haters are threatening to continue their actions into a Clinton Presidency.

They aren’t the loyal opposition. They are setting the groundwork for being secessionists and insurrectionists. Just watch the words and deeds of Trump supporters who are the core of the GOP. This is what year after year of irrational hate and fear mongering has wrought.
