High profile case and it’s possible that questions came up about a juror(s) contact with what was on the legal counsel’s table - seeing evidence or information that was not privy to be seen by the jury, etc.

I think that was basic stuff, but there may have been some indication that a juror might be having contacts with outside persons that would change their views.

Again, this is all about making sure the record is appeal proof and that everyone is adhering to the rules. We don’t want jurors engaging in nullification. We also don’t want them to treat someone as guilty before they’ve seen/heard the entire case.

Hey, I’m a lawyer not on the case, and I am entitled to my opinions that Manafort is guilty as fuck, but those on the jury must retain the presumption of innocence and review the evidence as the jury deliberates. That’s what Ellis is trying to do.
