for some reason the Americans & Brits decided we needed the Germans in the cold war and we decided to go rather lightly on the captured Germans only a few big shots were punished were in my opinion if you were a member of the SS you should have seen jail time and if you had civilian blood on your hands you should have gotten at least life in prison or the gallows.
