Me too, sometimes. The very best, however, was when I had exploratory surgery nearly four years ago, which confirmed a diagnosis of GCA (don’t ask). When I went to have the stitches removed, this lovely conversation happened:

To this there was no answer and I restrained myself from laughing till I got outside.

I got the opposite the first time I went in for Dupuytren’s Contracture surgery:

We don’t usually see this in men until their eighties.

I was forty-five.
