We allow multiple non-consecutive. It hasn’t happened in my lifetime but it’s allowed. I’d like to point something out about Northam that differentiates him from previous Dem governors in the last 20 years. Northam unlike Kaine, Warner, and McAuliffe is a Virginia native and unlike them he doesn’t have too many ties to NoVa. Obviously I’m not saying that makes him a racist but I think it would explain that while he’s close in age to all three of them, his upbringing during the Civil Rights years certainly would have been different. I don’t know. I’m still trying to digest all this. Why the hell he thought it was okay for one thing. And what the hell is wrong with Eastern Medical school.

You’re too young, but it happened during my lifetime. Mills Godwin was the 60th and 62nd governor of the Commonwealth, serving for 1966-70 as a Democrat and from 1974-78 as a Republican. Tim Kaine’s father-in-law was the 61st governor.
