The article suggests federal officials dissuaded them from being tested and that they can go home if not tested but would be forced to stay if they tested positive. This is insanely irresponsible given their likelihood of infection and asymptomatic transmission. If I was giving officials the benefit of the doubt, they did this because of the continued shortage of tests and need to prioritize them. But that still seems insanely irresponsible and this seems more geared towards keeping the numbers down or just standard administration incompetence, like the travel restrictions without resources that likely infected many more at the airports…..
