It all hinges on these midterms. If the GOP ends up controlling both chambers, then we have to ride this out until 2020. If the Democrats take at least one chamber back, then Congressional oversight becomes a real thing again.

If this plays out like Watergate/Agnew, Pence resigns while Trump burrows further. A new VP would have to be approved by both Houses of Congress. So that would be our best chance for a not terrible successor to Trump, should he be forced to resign/be impeached and removed.

The question is, what Republican would be acceptable enough for Democrats to vote for?

A never-Trumper? How about David Jolly?
