Well, they will remove their kid if there’s an actual better alternative. For a lot of parents, there isn’t. Private schools achieve a large measure of their success by rejecting a lot of applicants, ones that aren’t up their academic standards, would be too difficult to deal with or not fit ‘culturally’.

The fact that the private schools can reject candidates and toss malcontents is often overlooked when discussing this issue. It would be like comparing LGF versions that allowed moderation and one where all contents had to be accepted (up to a very broad standard.) Which one would you hang out in?
