So here’s the thing I keep coming back to:

There is NOTHING, not ONE SINGLE THING that Trump and his crew have done once in office that any sentient observer couldn’t have seen coming months ago. Anyone who read LGF or watched Rachel Maddow or read WaPo or the NYT knew all about the Russian connections and the toxic narcissism and the near-inability to read or comprehend English beyond a sixth-grade level.

I think that’s something very different and very new in American politics. Sure, Nixon had a reputation as being somewhat vindictive, but could anyone in 1972 honestly have looked at Watergate breaking and say that every single sign was easily visible before he was even elected?

The short version of the explanation is this: the Republican Party is a cancer on the nation, and the Trump administration is merely the first acute life-threatening episode caused by this cancer.
