It’s a control issue thing. Also, when I was a kid I saw this happen:

Then 9/11 happened and I decided that I’d rather fly myself. Of course it’s helpful that the boyfriend is a retired marine and a Certified Flight Instructor.
This crash occurred 5 miles from my childhood home.
Our whole house shook when this jet crashed.
For weeks..months…years…later, I would listen to hear the wheels screeching on every jet that approached the tarmat on a landing jet..to make sure it was down safely.
