You’re right that I overreacted on the tie thing. I can’t tie one myself so I’m a little insecure about that and would be a bit embarrassed seeing that made into a meme.

Yeah. I suspect the kid in the picture probably would have been OK with the original tweeting, but spreading would most likely be uncomfortable.
