Also, when I was in college, we had an entire discussion over whether it’s cola, soda, or coke. In Texas, where I grew up, it was coke - “Would you like a coke?” “Sure.” “What kind?” “Dr Pepper.” - but I’ve change from that to soda, even though I’m still in Texas.

coke, pepsi, etc have spent years and $ trying to be the “kleenex, xerox, jello” etc of soft drinks
