You just reminded me of “Cheddar Man” whose descendants still live around the area. I can’t place the name of the people who lived on the British Isles before the Celts got there, though (if there is one).

I remember reading somewhere that despite the Celtic and Saxon invasions, that pre-Celtic lineage still makes up for most of what we consider “British”.

I’m sure you’re aware of the Bog People- but that is a strange topic for the middle of the night.
